DEBT COUNSELLING: Because of the sensitive nature of the industry and the fact that entrie livelihoods are dependant on our work, every precaution is taken to ensure that new applications are handled accurately. All new applications are handled quickly and effectively by one of our qualified debt counsellors. After each application is submitted, it is escalated to our Negotiations & Communications department. In addition to debt counselling matters, the legal department also handles administraion orders. Ensuring that all COB’s (Certificate of Balances provided by creditors) are captured correctly. Ensureing that the proposal is accurate according to all counter offers which were received. Our TQM teams are always headed by one of our registered debt counsellors to ensure that all the required data is present and accurate. Seeing that we were unable to assiste these consumers through debt counselling, it was decided that the company should expand its services to include debt administration as well. The ability of administration orders to remove legal action has proven itself a great asset to our clients. Our administrations are entirely seperate from the debt counselling applications and do not interfere with any of the other departments. As with debt counselling, the process is explained in detail by the consultant: 1.Communication with creditors. Although the consumer does not need to pay the monthly installments over himself, he needs to inform the administrator if he becomes unemployed or moves to a different employer. Through sequestration we are able to assist consumers who are willing to have their assets sold in order to have their debts settled. Sequestration entails the liquidation of all of a consumer’s existing assets in order to settle all outstanding debt. We do not receive installments from consumers and it is therefore a trustworthy process. An administration order refers to a court-granted order in which a consumer is ordered to pay a pre-determined amount towards his debt each month. The process simpler than Debt Review and is generally granted by the court sooner. Debt Counselling can be summarised as a procedure whereby a consumer who is over-indebted applies to have his monthly credit obligations lowered. Upon applying for Debt Review, all of your creditors are notified of your intent to be placed under Debt Review and the relevant Credit Bureaus are notified. Once all negotiations have been finalized the application is taken to court and a Court Order is obtained, which acts as a new contract between you and your creditors It is vitally important that you pay according to the granted order, or your credit providers could have your credit rehabilitation terminated and proceed with regular collection procedures.
