Cibapac, based on a large factory campus in Cape Town’s Montague Gardens and in Alrode Johannesburg, primarily services the protein and fresh produce sectors. It is one of the largest manufacturer of PVC stretch film in South Africa, and has a major share of the expanded polystyrene (EPS) tray market for fresh produce, meat, poultry and fast foods. Cibapac was created from the South African division of LINPAC Packaging and is owned by two private equity partners, Leaf Private Equity and Clearwater Capital. The organisation is customer-focussed and aims at providing a comprehensive packaging solution to our customers. We have expanded our product offering to cover all major food related packaging needs to our target market. CIBAPAC has a detailed innovation team tracking the latest developments in packaging globally. We also have a long standing, strong relationship with major global raw material suppliers, to ensure that the latest polymer developments are tested for barrier film improvements in the South African market. Cibapac is one of South Africa’s largest manufacturers of PVC shrink film and expanded polystyrene (EPS) trays for fresh produce, meat, poultry and fast foods. A wholly-owned South African company, Cibapac is one of only two manufacturers of multi-layered, seamless casings for polonies and has made significant inroads into lidding films for MAP (modified atmosphere packaging) and flexible APET base and lidding films for the fresh meat sector. Cibapac’s achievements include the launch of APET roll stock, which has earned it a sizeable market share among meat and cheese packers. Future plans include offering printed shrink pouches and peelable tray lidding with customer-specific designs and branding. Our product ranges include: polystyrene fomo trays, stretch wrap film, multi-layer vacuum bags, barrier packaging and seamless casings.
